The dust has settled on NAB Show 2022, offering a chance to reflect on what a momentous event it was for MediaKind! To say it was refreshing being back on the Las Vegas show floor after a three-year hiatus is an understatement. The entire MediaKind team – from sales to engineering to marketing – felt a huge sense of excitement being back on the show floor after so long and showcase our products and news.
The media industry is amidst one of its most exciting transformations, one where both technology buyers and sellers are embracing cloud and software-based tools at a faster pace than ever before to meet market demands. This was a clear trend in NAB Show’s new West Hall where MediaKind was exhibiting and played a fundamental role in our on-booth demonstrations. From my perspective, meetings with customers, partners, and prospects felt even more focused and targeted than usual – directly reflecting their business-driven goals and strong desire to reconnect face-to-face. The contributions from the entire MediaKind community in showcasing our capabilities and expertise to NAB Show attendees made it one of our most successful shows yet.
Six speakers across four days!
Our team was out in force across the LVCC for numerous speaking engagements, participating in six events across the show’s four days. Together, they covered everything from real-world uses of AI for better video compression, live production in the cloud, diversity among technology leadership, and the transition to cloud and IP in media.
Two prestigious award wins for MediaKind Engage
It was a huge honor to land two prestigious award wins for MediaKind Engage, our direct-to-consumer (D2C) solution for video production, streaming, and audience engagement – which effectively enables our customers to build their entire content workflow in the cloud. MediaKind Engage won the TVB Europe Best of Show Award and TV Technology Best of Show Award – and received a nomination for NAB Product of the Year too. As the shift to D2C and streaming escalates, these awards cement our position as the leading provider of D2C video solutions giving us some great momentum in the space.
New partnership announcements at NAB Show
Our leading NAB Show news involved announcing two exciting new cloud partnerships. We revealed an enhanced strategic partnership with Microsoft to accelerate video digital transformation, increasing the integration and optimization of MediaKind and Microsoft products, platforms, and cloud capabilities. The move to the cloud and the automation of certain processes has helped us in our work with customers such as Orange Belgium, where we deployed our live encoding and streaming technology to enable enriched consumer experiences for Orange subscribers.
At a time when the industry is undergoing a massive transition, this extension to our partnership with Microsoft enables us to operate at the cutting-edge of innovation, enhancing our cloud-native media services and solutions portfolio while driving video digital transformation across multiple industries. It means we can enable our customers to embark on their own cloud transition and do so seamlessly.
We also shared details of our new status as an AWS partner, having completed the AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR). This new status enables us to identify and remediate risks in our products and solutions. And by adhering to FTR guidelines and identifying AWS Well-Architected best practices, we can now offer the best possible client service to all our customers in all markets. This advances our wider focus on addressing the core challenges broadcasters and operators face in migrating broadcast and streaming services to the cloud.
Realizing Live without Limits
Underpinning these announcements is our commitment to realizing a future where live video can be delivered without limits, at broadcast quality and scale, to any screen or device, across linear, on-demand, and OTT services. It was an enormous pleasure sharing the full capabilities of our expanded, software-centric, cloud-native solutions to visitors of NAB Show, demonstrating how we are inspiring and pushing the boundaries of the streaming era.
Thanks again to everyone who made this year’s NAB Show one to remember. Until next year!
