Operators were the first to adopt cloud technology at scale for real-time media and most see streaming as core to their future, providing a unified means to deliver live, catch-up and on-demand content. At the same time, in terms of technology and operations, streaming and cloud are revolutionizing the way that content owners, sports organizations, programmers and broadcasters define their routes to market. Furthermore, cloud service providers are increasingly offering edge and on-premises private/hybrid cloud management. So, what does all this mean for how operators can make the essential personalized connection to subscribers for all the relevant content they want to access? Is aggregation making a comeback in a different guise? How will the delivery architecture change? What are the barriers and enablers for these transformations?
